At Hanover, we actively welcome your participation in school life. We have a range of parents volunteering across the school in different ways, making a real impact on children’s learning. There are many ways you can get involved:

  • Find out about the role and responsibilities of school governors
  • Join our parents’ association, Friends of Hanover, which works to support the school.
  • Speak to your child’s teacher about how you might help. Common ways parents become involved include going on trips and visits.
  • Tell us about any skills or interests you have which might help us, either in terms of children’s learning or as an organisation.

We are occasionally able to offer unpaid positions to highly skilled volunteers. For this to be effective, volunteers must commit to a regular time over at least one whole term, and will go through a full safeguarding and induction process before they can begin.

We receive a high volume of requests from people seeking a few days in a primary school before further training. Whilst we try to help, we are often not able to offer this experience, and apologise for this.

Please note that we conduct DBS checks on all adults who work at Hanover for an extended period of time or on a regular basis.
